I've been back in Vegas for a few days after a nice getaway to L.A. over the July 4th weekend and now I gots the after vacation blues. I wanna get out of this city for good, but a year of school I gotsta finish. So, I'm trying to find a way to add more classes to my life, work less, or not at all, so I can completely indulge myself in school so I can get it done and get out to L.A. and retool my life and start a new adventure. I just don't know how to do it, but there's got to be a way.
We went to California to visit the wifey's family, spent some money and time at the Anime Convention and just to get outta town to rejuvinate and get us on the right track.
I walked so much that by Sunday I just couldn't walk anymore, but it was fun.
We went to a panel with the JRawk gothband Moi  dix Mois, featuring the former member of Malice Mizer-Mana, in a funny interview. Funny, in that Mana wasn't particularly funny himself, but funny in that everything was so controlled and contrived in that is was so un-rocknroll and rediculous,every answer was perfectly translated by his translater so as not to offend anyone and to play up to the whole JRock cuteness and cuddliness of thier cross dressing gothboybandiness. No pictures were allowed to be taken, though I don't know why. His hair and make up was perfect.


My fave thing about the Anime convention in LA is ,of course, all the cosplay costumes and the merchandise. Like any craze, be it a comic convention,KISS convention, sports shows or gun shows, the nutjobs come out in the hundreds, but the majority of the cosplay peeps do a pretty impressive job with thier get ups. Being in L.A. is exciting, and hopefully next year or soon after, once we move out there, I'll have my own booth at Artist Alley and actually participate in it all instead of witnessing it. It's time to break out of Vegas and really get down to the art business.

While out there tho, I didn't see any news or know what the hell was going on outside of the convention and family stuff, but I did notice the tons of news vans parked all over the area. It wasn't until Sunday that I found out about the whole Micheal Jackson Memorial that was soon to ascend down upon the area. Now, watching it on tv, we were smack dab in the area where all this was about to take place.
But, the thing that really struck my fancy was when I saw this sign near a bus stop-


I'm much more interested in going to see that! Tho, after fishing around some videos of it on youtoob, I see how cheesy and aweful it most likely is, but if I was in LA right now-THAT'S where I would be-The Creature From The Black Lagoon musical! Gah!

I didn't do nearly as much artwork as I planned too, between the convention,family and lack of sleep I did do up some doodles-




These are of my wifey's cousin's little doggie named Bowser, who I enjoyed the company of, a small little doggie with such interesting facial markings that I had to sketch him up and perhaps use as a character in the future. He rocks!

So, after a few days away from the godawful heat and grumpiness of Las Vegas,the Ragzter got ragged out and we headed on back, with sore feet, broken wallets, fuzzy heads and hearts slung low knowing the trip was over, but the seeds of hope for a fresh start and a new life have been planted and soon shall take sprout. The next year will be tough, but I'm gonna kick school's ass and by this time next year we'll be on a new road to adventure.

It's time for a change!
